Our Projects
Project Highlights From 2023
Launched in 2019, the Sunflower Cooperative empowers members to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at significantly lower prices than supermarkets.
By sourcing directly from wholesale markets, the cooperative cuts out middlemen and reduces costs, making healthy eating more accessible for all.
The initiative also fosters a sense of community and collective responsibility as members work together to manage the cooperative.
We offer a wide range of workshops on topics like health and wellbeing, crafts and skills, and economic empowerment.
These workshops provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to learn new skills, gain knowledge, and connect with others.
In 2021 alone, we reached over 100 beneficiaries through our Community Learning Workshops.
Recognising the devastating impact of domestic violence, we delivered 36 community learning hours on the topic in 2022.
These workshops provided vital information and support to survivors, raising awareness and empowering them to seek help.
We also provided one-on-one support to 5 participants, offering a safe space for them to share their experiences and access resources.
We are committed to supporting vulnerable communities, including refugees and asylum seekers.
In 2022, we secured 300 SIM cards with 6 months of credit from VODAFONE and distributed them to this demographic, helping them stay connected with loved ones and access essential services.
We are passionate about promoting cultural understanding and inclusion.
In 2023, we secured grants to celebrate Refugee Week and organise events specifically tackling isolation and loneliness.
These initiatives bring communities together, foster a sense of belonging, and celebrate the rich diversity of London.
The Abdul Mageed Educational Trust is brimming with excitement for the future. We have ambitious plans to expand our reach and impact, including:
Launching the Peer Support Café in January 2024, offering a space for peer-to-peer support and mental health awareness.
Delivering interactive health workshops across five boroughs, reaching even more communities.
We believe that working together can create a brighter future for all. If you are passionate about education, connection, and empowerment, we invite you to join us on this journey.
Together, we can weave a stronger, more vibrant community tapestry in the heart of London.
