Understanding and Living with Dementia
Community Space 2nd Basement, Church Street Library, 67 Church Street, LondonFacilitator: David Truswell Event Description: As part of the Abdul Mageed Educational Trust's 2024/5 Community Learning Workshop series, in collaboration with Islamic Relief UK, this session led by dementia care expert David Truswell will explore what it means to live with dementia. The workshop will cover the signs, symptoms, and stages of dementia, as well as the emotional, social, and practical challenges faced by both those diagnosed with the condition and their caregivers. Participants will also gain valuable insights into how to provide compassionate care and support for individuals living with dementia. Peer Support Café: After the session, attendees can join the Peer Support Café, an informal space for discussion and community support. It offers an opportunity to share experiences and engage in further conversations about living with dementia in a supportive environment. This workshop is ideal for caregivers, family members, and anyone interested in understanding dementia and learning how to support those affected by the condition.
