A place-based partner for preventative community delivery

AMET offers an established route into refugee, asylum-seeking and underserved migrant communities in Westminster. Our structured Peer Support Cafés support consistent contact, first-language facilitation, safeguarding awareness and practical access to appropriate services.

What we offer partners

Community venues and an established relationship-led approach to engagement.

Delivery and communication adapted to Arabic, Amharic and Tigrinya-speaking participants, subject to staffing and interpretation arrangements.

A repeatable format for health, wellbeing, safeguarding awareness and practical navigation sessions.

Opportunities for qualified partner speakers and services to contribute within defined responsibilities.

Proportionate delivery records and project-specific monitoring aligned with funding requirements.

Funding and delivery experience

Our organisational records document Westminster City Council and National Lottery-supported café programmes, alongside earlier community education, inclusion and health engagement work. This experience provides a basis for discussing sustained and multi-year programmes. Specific reporting, financial management and project delivery arrangements are agreed for each funded opportunity.

Safeguarding and accountability

AMET has a published safeguarding framework and works with specialist or statutory agencies where matters fall outside its competence. Project agreements should specify lead responsibility for safeguarding, qualified provision, data handling, referrals, financial reporting and monitoring. Trustees retain governance responsibilities.

Responsible extension of the café model

Our established areas are Pimlico, Church Street, Maida Vale, Paddington and Lisson Grove. Subject to an evidenced need, suitable partner arrangements and funding, AMET seeks to develop additional café provision in Victoria, South Kensington, North Kensington, Earl’s Court, Shepherd’s Bush, White City, Vauxhall, Nine Elms and Battersea.

Start a funding or commissioning conversation

We welcome discussions about preventative health, language access, safeguarding awareness, digital inclusion, neighbourhood participation and sustained community engagement where these fit the Peer Support Café model.

Reach refugee and migrant communities in Westminster

Grant providers, councils, health organisations and delivery partners can work with AMET to develop community engagement through established Peer Support Cafés. Our work particularly reaches Arabic, Amharic and Tigrinya-speaking residents in Pimlico, Church Street, Maida Vale, Paddington and Lisson Grove.

Discuss a funded programme, a qualified specialist session or a community engagement partnership. We agree the communities, location, language support, safeguarding responsibilities and monitoring arrangements for each activity.
