Abdul Mageed Educational Trust

Our Story

A community-rooted response to barriers in everyday life

Abdul Mageed Educational Trust was established in memory of Abdul Mageed. Its founding purpose grew from the experience of people who encounter barriers when trying to understand systems, find trusted information or secure appropriate support in an unfamiliar setting.

AMET was established in 2018 and registered as a charity in 2020. Its early community learning, inclusion and family activities developed into the structured Peer Support Café model that now connects much of its preventative work.

The founding purpose remains relevant: information should be understandable, local relationships should be trustworthy, and residents should have practical routes to the services and support they need.

As AMET looks ahead, its priority is to strengthen existing provision and develop new cafés where there is sufficient community demand, safe delivery capacity and sustained support.
