Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Children: Understanding ADHD

Facilitator: Dr. Islah Abdelsalam, Consultant in Family and Child Psychology
Event Description:
As part of the Abdul Mageed Educational Trust’s 2024/5 Community Learning Workshop series, in collaboration with Islamic Relief UK, this session will focus on ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) in children.

Led by Dr. Islah Abdelsalam, a consultant in family and child psychology, this workshop will explore the causes, symptoms, and practical management strategies for children with ADHD. The session will offer insights into early identification, effective support methods, and approaches to help both children and families cope with ADHD in daily life.

Peer Support Café:
Following the session, attendees can join the Peer Support Café, a weekly drop-in space for further discussions, activities, and community support. This informal environment allows participants to share experiences and connect with others who are managing or supporting children with ADHD.

Ideal for parents, caregivers, and educators seeking to deepen their understanding of ADHD and its impact on children’s development and family life.
